January- In January we adopted Hank. Almost a year later he is still trying to eat anything he can get in his mouth. He was the easiest dog I have ever house trained and is very good about following commands. We are hoping that in another year all of the big dumb puppy spurts will dwindle. He loves to cuddle and must be touching Tater while he sleeps.

February- I decided to hang up my real estate license in February. Between the high expenses, a slow market, and picking the wrong brokerage, it was a disaster. I was spending buckets of money and going further into debt trying to keep my head above water. I still keep track of what goes on in my local market and I know I made the right decision.
March- In March I met my mom in Los Angeles. She had to be there for a business trip and we decided to mix business with pleasure. We visited old friends, ate awesome food, spent a lot of time on the beach, and toured our old hang outs. Kari and the boys were also in town, so we were all able to meet up for a day. Mom and I decided we should have an annual girls trip. We visited Huntington Beach's dog beach and it was my idea of Heaven. Sun, sand, water, and puppies all in the same place.

April- I didn't know it at the time, but April was my last month at the doggie daycare. I received a job offer that I couldn't turn down. It was bitter sweet saying goodbye to all of my puppies. I still work there once a month, but it isn't the same. If money were not an issue, I would go back to working with the dogs. There were some rough days, but working with the dogs made it all worth it. It was also nice to work with people who appreciate and love dogs as much as I do.
May- In May I started my new job at the construction company. I am still learning new things every day and I hope that never ends. I enjoy the challenge and learning a new trade. I also enjoy being able to pay my bills.
June- June should be the start of summer, but I think it rained for three weeks straight. Dave possibly came down with the swine flu and was not a happy camper. The doctor told him that it wasn't worth testing for.
July- July was one big party. There were clam bakes, bbqs (they call them cookouts here), graduation parties, and July 4th. With the exception of July 4th, it rained at all of these events. One of the graduation parties was in Rochester and we had to pack up quickly for a tornado warning. We saw a lot of rain, but not much of a tornado.
August- August was spent on home improvement projects. We ripped out carpet, painted, did repairs, and installed new flooring in our guest bedroom. It was a lot of work, but the room came out beautiful. We were hoping to keep up the hard work and move to the next room, but we haven't touched a paintbrush since.

September- My mom and Wayde flew in from Minneapolis. This was Wayde's first trip to Syracuse. We spent time at the NYS fair, the Thousand Islands, Skaneateles, and showing them the local sights.

October- I got my new Honda Element in October. It fits our family, is easy to clean, and drives great in the snow. This was my best purchase in 2009.

November- In November we finally got "city water". We no longer get our water from the well. That means we will never run out of water again and there will be no more mineral deposits on the dishes, toilets, showers, or faucets. Hallelujah! We had to rip up the yard and pull out some bushes, but it was well worth it.
December- December was spent preparing for Christmas. We kept it small and low key which resulted in much less stress during the holidays. We opened up a vacation account in December and gave each other passports as a Christmas gift. We are hoping for a trip to Mexico in late 2010 or early 2011.
We went to dinner with Dave's parents on New Years Eve and then spent the rest of the night on the couch. At midnight, Dave, Tater, Hank and I all exchanged kisses.
Hope 2009 was good to you and 2010 is even better. Happy New Year!
