March was a pretty crappy month around here. Dave's uncle passed away March 1st which created a dark cloud for the family. Then during the last week of March, his mom was in and out of the hospital. She seems to be much better now, but it is pretty scary when even the doctors don't know what is wrong or how to fix it. She has been out of the hospital for a couple days now and she seems to be back to normal as if nothing ever happened which is both good and bad. Dave's parents have turned into rebellious teenagers who are invincible.
March was filled with death and sickness, but it was also a time for a reality check and eye opening experience. Dave and I realized that we only get one life and one body, so you had better take care of it before it is too late. We have been eating healthier and Dave has decided to go for a physical. If you know Dave, he hates doctors with a passion. While we are not giving up all of our bad habits just yet, we are cutting back and making more informed decisions about our health.
So that brings us to April.... I went to Minnesota for a few days to visit my family. It was a much needed break although it came at a bad time since Dave's mom was still in the hospital. Dave spent the week in the hospital and I spent the week on vacation. When I got back home we had both come down with some sort of viral infection that is going around. It may be our body's way of telling us we need a break. We got the message loud and clear.
